About Me

I am an artist and student in Lawrence, Kansas. My practice is mainly in jewelry. Within it, I like to take advantage of how artwork can grab and hold people’s attention, allowing them to reconsider overlooked aspects of our world. It often includes themes of nature and the past.

My work has been exhibited at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, the Offsite Art Space, and published in magazines such as Elementia. I am currently pursuing my BFAs in visual arts (metalsmithing) and art history at the University of Kansas.

I am now accepting commissions. Feel free to reach out at katiem.makes.art@gmail.com.
